No longer a tight squeeze at parking bays

AMONG the things that made the news in 2012 were the redrawn parking bays at the Taman Selayang Jaya commercial area, which were narrower, making it difficult for motorists to get out of their vehicles.

Selayang Municipal Council (MPS) contractors had resurfaced Jalan SJ3 and made the parking bays narrower by more than a feet.

Selayang MCA Public Complaints Bureau chairman Johnson Ooi and former Selayang parliamentary coordinator Jessie Ooi highlighted the issue and wanted the council to redraw the parking bays as it caused inconvenience to motorists and disrupted business in the commercial area.

Since the report was published, the contractor had redrawn the parking bays and motorists no longer face any problem exiting their vehicles.
