Eksklusif: Nik Aziz Seleweng Tanah Kelantan

Image
Jika benar, rakyat ingin tahu bagaimana mungkin beberapa bidang tanah milik syarikat DAMAI (Darulnaim Agro Management Industries Sdn Bhd) , sebuah syarikat milik penuh Perbadanan Kemajuan Iktisad Negeri Kelantan (PKINK) kini menjadi milik pemimpin PAS serta anak isteri mereka?

Crowd turns up for free trim to show displeasure over PAS by-law

Making a beeline: Customers queuing up outside the Raymond Choon Hair Salon in The Gardens, Kuala Lumpur. KUALA LUMPUR: A crowd turned up to support the right of customers to choose their hairstylist, regardless of gender. They came to get a free haircut offered by celebrity hairstylist Raymond Choon to protest against the Kota Baru Municipal Council's ruling. Housewife Emma Pye, 42, was among the first to get her hair cut at 3pm. "Raymond has been my hairstylist for six years. This ruling is a step back as we should not be limited by gender or other restrictions," she said. Choon, who is known for styling a number of local and international celebrities, attended to the mostly-female customers who turned up at the Raymond Choon Hair Salon in The Gardens here yesterday. In addition to the haircuts, they also received a free wash and blow dry. "I believe customers have a right to choose who should cut their hair and the ruling is unnecessary. &

Smashed: A MPSP officer demolishing the altar at Gopi's house in Sepang. SEPANG: The Sepang Municipal Council's (MPSP) demolition of a Hindu altar in a house in Taman Seroja in Bandar Baru Salak Tinggi last week has caused an uproar in the Indian community. The MIC and several Indian groups are demanding an explanation from the council and the Selangor Government for the high-handed action. MIC Youth secretary C. Sivarraajh said 30 enforcement officers from the council went to the house on Nov 20 and demolished the altar, which was erected within the gated compound. House owner Umah Devi, 35, said she received a notice from the council to demolish it on grounds that the structure was allegedly in violation of council bylaws. "My husband went to the council to appeal and was told it would be considered. But we received another notice stating that we would have to pay a RM250 daily fine if we did not tear it down," she said. "The officers

No reprieve: The trees lining Jalan Masjid Negeri are set to face the axe soon GEORGE TOWN: The Penang Municipal Council (MPPP) will proceed with its plan to cut and transplant trees in Jalan Masjid Negeri for a road widening project despite objections from several NGOs. MPPP Engineering Department deputy director A. Rajendran said the project was needed to cope with the estimated 10% to 15% increase in traffic after the second Penang bridge is completed in September next year. He said the project, which also includes the upgrading of the drainage system in the area, was scheduled to start in two weeks and be completed in 2014. "The project costs about RM7.5mil, inclusive of cutting down and transplanting the trees, and building an elevated U-turn heading to Jalan Yeap Chor Ee from Jalan Masjid Negeri," he said at a press conference at the project site yesterday. Rajendran said the council had to cut down the trees that are decaying, termite-infested a

Chua rubbishes PAS’ findings

SEGAMAT: MCA president Datuk Seri Dr Chua Soi Lek has debunked PAS' claims that Pakatan Rakyat is making "inroads" into Johor. He described the findings of the PAS Research Centre as "spinning and blowing hot air". "They must be dreaming. This is a political research. "Which research from a political party will show that it will lose?" he asked. As for the respondents who allegedly favoured PAS vice- president Salehuddin Ayub over Mentri Besar Datuk Abdul Ghani Othman , Dr Chua dismissed it as a bluff, saying that the locals did not even know Salehuddin. "All the people here know Ghani Othman," he told reporters after attending a dinner organised by the Jementah Ji Siang Welfare Association on Wednesday. Dr Chua was asked to comment on an online report claiming that the findings by the centre showed that there were signs of change among voters and Pakatan could win up to seven more parliamentary seats in the next ge

PR Government To Open An Embassy In Israel

Image
Hamas has received the announcement made by Dato' Seri Najib during UMNO's General Assembly regarding Malaysia's proposal to open an embassy in a sovereign Palestine in the near future, which meant a lot. Hamas's Head of International Relations, Usamah Hamdan looks at this as a positive stand from the Malaysian government and UMNO leadership towards Palestine. He also expressed his hopes that the embassy would be able to help in rebuilding Palestine. Usama also hopes that the proposal would become an inspiration for other Islamic countries in taking the same stand, supporting Palestine. During the speech, Dato' Seri Najib also once again expressed Malaysia's commitment in fighting for justice for Palestinians. Justice in Islam is defined as putting something at its right place. That is why, justice for Palestine should be seen as stopping any force from taking over their land, which has been part of their rights. This also mean to return the rights of Palestin

Islam Itu Bukan PAS

Image

MCA president Datuk Seri Dr Chua Soi Lek has described Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak 's Umno address as "inspiring". In a video blog posted yesterday, Dr Chua said: "It is well-recognised that this will be the last Umno general assembly before the general election. "Najib's message earlier wasn't only for the party delegates but also for the heads of the component parties." He said that Najib had spoken about the importance of winnable candidates, describing them as people who are supported by the party leadership and the local community. "Najib said that a winnable candidate must be someone who serves sincerely and someone who is not arrogant. "I'm sure this message is not just for the Umno delegates but oth

Ucapan Perbahasan Ketua Pemuda Perak, Khairul Azwan Dato' Harun #PAU2012 #UMB

Image

From dognapping to Hindu shrine desecration: When will local authorities in S’gor stop trespassing private property to carry out insensitive acts?

30 November 2012 Press statement by YB Wong Koon Mun, MCA Selangor State Liaison Committee Secretary and state Assemblyman for Kuala Kubu Baru From dognapping to Hindu shrine desecration: When will local authorities in S'gor stop trespassing private property to carry out insensitive acts? While it is bad enough that in Selangor, more than 50 police reports have been lodged against local councils for infringing the rights of house owners when their dog catchers illegally trespassed private property to "dognap" pet canines, this situation of enforcement officers illegally intruding into private premises – this time to destroy a Hindu shrine is alarming, devastating and warrants immediate resolve. Smashed: A MPSP officer demolishing the altar at Gopi's house in Sepang. The Star (30 Nov 2012) reports of council workers from the Sepang Municipal Council (MPSP) had entered the compound of a Hindu couple to demolish a Hindu altar that was erected within the coupl

Malacca government rebukes e-learning portals claims

MALACCA: The Malacca government has distanced itself from claims that it has endorsed certain paid e-learning portals as a reliable and effective study tool compared to attending tuition classes. State Education, Youth And Sport committee chairman Datuk Gan Tian Loo said such claims were purportedly made by those who are zealous in promoting the portals through the multi-level-marketing (MLM) system. "We have never certified any of these portals as effective study providers as such sites were operated solely for business purposes. They should also not misuse the state government in a bid to promote their products to the masses", he said when met recently. Gan said subscribers renew these portals monthly and the agents of these education portals are paid commissions. "Therefore, the state has never endorse any e-learning portals andparents who intends to subscribe including those who was a sign-up asdownlines shouldnt easily be convinced about such c

JOHOR BARU: Johor remains a favourite destination in Malaysia among foreign investors in the manufacturing sector and always comes up among the top in the country. The state international trade and industry chairman Tan Kok Hong said last year Johor received about RM6.6bil investments in 118 industrial projects. He said of the total RM6.6bil, 50% came from foreign investors demonstrating a business confidence in the long-term growth prospects of the state. "With Iskandar Malaysia progressing well in the last six years, more new investments from the manufacturing sector are likely to come to Johor,'' said Tan. He said this at the opening of Galperti Manufacturing Malaysia Sdn Bhd at the Setia Business Park located along Jalan Ulu Choh-Gelang Patah on Tuesday. The RM100mil facility is

Ministry drafting Bill to protect stray animals

Image
PET owners should care for their animals well and realise it is a huge responsibility owning dogs and cats, said Deputy Agriculture and Agro-Based Industry Minister Datuk Chua Tee Yong. "We are drafting the Animal Welfare Bill to protect animals, including strays, and prevent abuse. "Sometimes a dog or a cat that is old, is chased out of the house and abandoned because of the huge medical bills or because the owners are just not interested anymore. "We will work with non-governmental organisations to help raise awareness that owning a pet comes with a big responsibility," he said during the committee stage of the debate on the Animals (Amendment) Bill. During the debate, several MPs had asked what could be done to protect strays and possible incentives to those who rescued them. Chua encouraged non-govermental organisations to work with the ministry and help gather evidence against perpretrators to ensure they are charged in court. The Anima

Team reaches out to new BR1M applicants

November saw the Kempen Jom Daftar BR1M 2.0 on the road to help get Malaysians registered. The previous Bantuan Rakyat 1Malaysia (BR1M) 1.0 initiative saw the Pasukan Khidmat 1Malaysia helping 7,850 applicants apply for BR1M 1.0 with 80% of them being able to receive their RM500 voucher. From Nov 5 to 19, the team visited 15 out of the planned 22 locations and registered around 2,500 new applicants. Following the criteria set out for BR1M, the team found that 70% of the registrants were family heads who were applying for their RM500 aid while the remaining 30% were individuals applying for their RM250 aid. The team will be helping out with other projects such as the Service Station of Seputeh's Nicole Wong and the mobile medical screening of the 1MCA Medical Foundation. Kepimpinan Transformatif Menuju Wawasan Nasional

Image
Sebaliknya, ia satu iltizam terbaik melaksanakan proses muhasabah dan islah demi memperbetulkan kelemahan, memperkejab jentera parti, membugarkan hala tuju pertubuhan, seterusnya memastikan kelangsungan jemaah.
