Guan Eng should bear responsibility over violence towards media

It is a shame that DAP Secretary General Lim Guan Eng has failed to set a good example as a high ranking leader. Before this, Guan Eng had also expressed anger over certain issues which were reported and had even threatened to sue the reporters and this has directly resulted in his party members and supporters to lose all respect for journalists.

Thus, it is only right for Guan Eng to take responsibility over the beating of a reporter from Guang Ming Daily.

Before this, another DAP member Hew Kuan Yau had also insulted reporters by referring to them as prostitutes. Despite many protests and objections by various quarters, no action was taken against Hew Kuan Yau and DAP turned a blind eye to his actions.

Therefore, because of the DAP leadership's inaction, this has caused people to lose respect for the media resulting with journalists being looked down on, and now we have a reporter being attacked. This is not mere coincidence.

As such, Guan Eng is responsible for this and he should immediately apologize and order his members to stop insulting the media whether they publish good things or bad about Pakatan, even more so since he had once claimed that DAP supports freedom of the press.
