Non-Muslims at risk if PAS triumphs

PETALING JAYA: Non-Muslims are at risk of further extremism, hardship, loss of freedom and economic woes if PAS captured Putrajaya with the help of DAP and PKR.

MCA publicity bureau deputy chairman Loh Seng Kok said the Kota Baru Municipal Council's policy on hair-cutting showed that PAS could "easily pull the carpet from under one's feet once they have snared the non-Muslim vote".

"Already in Kelantan and Kedah, non-Muslim employers are subjected to moral policing," said Loh yesterday.

"PAS is portraying itself as reaching out to non-Muslims via its "welfare state concept" with empty promises that hudud enactments will not be imposed on non-Muslims.

"Its president Datuk Seri Abdul Hadi Awang has never hidden his wish to amend the Federal Constitution to insert hudud enactments," he said.
