MCA president Datuk Seri Dr Chua Soi Lek has described Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak's Umno address as "inspiring".
In a video blog posted yesterday, Dr Chua said: "It is well-recognised that this will be the last Umno general assembly before the general election.
"Najib's message earlier wasn't only for the party delegates but also for the heads of the component parties."
He said that Najib had spoken about the importance of winnable candidates, describing them as people who are supported by the party leadership and the local community.
"Najib said that a winnable candidate must be someone who serves sincerely and someone who is not arrogant.
"I'm sure this message is not just for the Umno delegates but other component party leaders," he said.
Dr Chua also said that Najib shared with the delegates and observers that the various transformation programmes were not mere political slogans.
