Desperate Anwar stoops low to humiliate Malaysia in calling for foreign intervention
MCA HQ, 27 Nov – Pakatan de facto leader Dato' Seri Anwar Ibrahim has shown how low he is willing to stoop in order to gain power by seeking Australia's intervention in the coming 13th General Elections, said MCA President Datuk Seri Dr Chua Soi Lek today in chairing a media conference upon the conclusion of the MCA Central Committee meeting. "It is of my view that it is an act which humiliates Malaysian citizens. This shows he is desperate," the party chief added.
Anwar had written to Australia's Foreign Secretary Bob Carr seeking the latter's intervention at Malaysia's next general elections.
"He used to be the Deputy Prime Minister once. As such he knows that Australia will never interfere in Malaysia's elections. This is just to discredit Malaysia's good name and to gain publicity through baseless claims," he said. "This is a reminder that Anwar will do anything to make himself "pemimpin agung" of Malaysia," added Soi Lek.
Rejection of GE results leads to Pakatan taking to demonstrations to justify electoral defeat
On a separate matter, Soi Lek also agreed with former Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad's statement that Pakatan will organize demonstrations if they lose the coming elections, adding that a nation's stability and peacefulness, especially in a multiracial country like Malaysia should not be taken for granted.
Responding to a reporter's query, Soi Lek informed that this matched MCA's theme of "Stability Above Chaos." The party President clarified that "in a multiracial country, we should not assume that interracial harmony and political stability are automatic. Everyone plays a role to maintain harmony and stability."
He also added that it was also due to this good stability and harmony that certain quarters have taken these two values for granted, explaining that these people might take advantage of demonstrations and rallies to expand their own political mileage or to achieve their own political gains.
Soi Lek also pointed out that the reason why Pakatan was constantly hyping on the electoral roll was so that they can be justified in holding their rallies when they lose in GE13. Describing this tactic as a pre-emptive move by Pakatan, he said "We are confident that if BN wins and BN will win, there is a big possibility that Pakatan will not accept the results. That's why they are playing up that the electoral roll is 'tak bersih' (tainted) and that BN wins by cheating." Soi Lek further explained that "this was Pakatan's early preparation to implant into the public's mind that BN cheats to win. So this gives them the justification to carry out demonstrations."
Other MCA Central Committee members present at the media conference include MCA Deputy President Dato' Seri Liow TIong Lai, Secretary General Dato' Seri Kong Cho Ha, Vice Presidents Dato' Sri Dr Ng Yen Yen Senator Gan Ping Sieu, National Organising Secretary Datuk Tee Siew Kiong and CC member Datuk Chua Tee Yong.
