BN: PKNS must explain to S’gor folk on Talam debt takeover

Selangor Barisan Nasional has repeated its call for the State Development Corporation (PKNS) to explain the corporation's takeover of Talam Corporation Bhd's debts.

Its coordinator Datuk Seri Mohd Zin Mohamed said PKNS owed Selangor folk an explanation on its takeover of Talam's debts, amounting to RM392mil, from Permodalan Negeri Selangor Bhd, Kumpulan Hartanah Selangor Bhd and Universiti Selangor.

"PKNS general manager Othman Omar should explain why PKNS is willing to take over Talam's debts when everybody knows that PKNS was established to help those who cannot afford to buy houses and property.

"If the PKNS role has changed to taking over of debts by corporate companies, then it should also take over the debts owed by the Selangor people," he said at a press conference here yesterday.

On Seri Kembangan residents being provided with water supply recently, Mohd Zin said it proved that there was a water crisis in Selangor.
