Kong: More stringent driving curriculum soon
A more stringent driving curriculum will be introduced to churn out better drivers, said Transport Minister Datuk Seri Kong Cho Ha.
He said the Road Transport Department (JPJ) and Malaysian Institute of Road Safety Research (MIROS) were working on the new syllabus.
"It will be implemented in all driving institutes hopefully by the second half of this year," said Kong after witnessing the opening of the new JPJ building by Sultan of Pahang Sultan Ahmad Shah at Indera Mahkota here.
Kong said there were over 570,000 new drivers last year.
Asked if the Kejara system would be revamped considering the large number of new drivers, he said it would be maintained to complement the new syllabus.
