BN Candidates Being Evaluated All The Time

BAGAN SERAI, Sept 28 (Bernama) -- Barisan Nasional (BN) possible candidates for the general election are being evaluated all the time to ensure that they are really qualified and able to carry out responsibility as leader.

Perak BN chairman Datuk Seri Zambry Abdul Kadir said age or seniority in the party is not criteria for selection as candidates to represent the party.

"The candidates must be leaders who can carry out responsibility and are popular with the people.

"Whether the candidate is young, old, new or old face is not the yardstick as likeable and winnable are factors for selection as candidates," he told a press conference after chairing the weekly State Exco meeting here today.

The Perak Menteri Besar said the possible candidates had been listed and they include several new faces with potential.
