Hamidah dares Ngeh to give details on Kelantan land deal
IPOH: State DAP chairman Datuk Ngeh Koo Ham has been challenged to disclose the amount paid by his company for a piece of land in Kelantan.
State exco member Datuk Hamidah Osman said Ngeh had been evading the issue although the matter was raised at the last state assembly sitting.
"He should come out and tell the truth," Hamidah told journalists after closing the Perak Book Fair 2012 here yesterday.
At the last sitting, Hamidah alleged that Ngeh and state DAP secretary Nga Kor Ming had received a piece of land from the Kelantan Government after Datuk Seri Mohammad Nizar Jamaluddin from PAS was made Mentri Besar in 2008.
Ngeh had on his blog said the company Upayapadu Plantation Sdn Bhdhad acquired the land in the open market.
He also claimed that Deputy Plantation Industries and Commodities Minister Datuk Hamzah Zainuddin had been informed of the acquisition and that no logging activities were carried out on the land.
He said the company was involved in reforestation and the land did not affect any orang asli settlement.
On the alleged threatening remarks made by Nga towards her during the last state assembly sitting, Hamidah said he had failed to co-operate with the police and had not provided them with a statement.
She had lodged a report at the Kampung Rapat police station against Nga for saying he would "come after" her.
The incident allegedly took place on Dec 20 at the refreshment hall of the state assembly.
This came about after Hamidah had made accusations against Nga and Ngeh at the assembly sitting.
"The police had tried contacting him but he did not respond to their calls.
"Instead of making a report to counter my claim, (Tronoh assemblyman) V. Sivakumar did it in his stead.
"Sivakumar was not even there when Nga made the threat," she said.
