Classified information stolen from Selayang MCA

IN JULY, Selayang MCA headquarters in Rawang town had been broken into for the third time in two years.

It was reported that the intruders took away confidential documents in the latest incident.

The thieves stole a computer, a computer monitor, a 32-inch television and five thumbdrives worth RM14,800.

The first break-in was in June last year and the second incident happened on May 5 this year but no documents or equipment were stolen.

Selayang MCA division chairman Datuk Tang See Hang said his room was ransacked.

"The thieves had taken the computers belonging to me and my personal secretary Teoh Chai Har, along with thumbdrives that have classified information on the upcoming general election such as nominees, candidates and areas that Barisan Nasional were reaching out to.

"The thieves broke the lock at the entrance as well as the room locks and used a master key to enter all 18 rooms in the office,'' said Tang, who had lodged a police report at the Rawang police station.

After the incident, Tang installed CCTV cameras and strengthen padlocks.
