PERKASA has no rights to demand that Reverend Dr Eu be investigated as he has not broken any laws
Press Statement by MCA Young Professionals Bureau Chairman Datuk Chua Tee Yong
PERKASA has no rights to demand that Reverend Dr Eu be investigated as he has not broken any laws
All citizens and organizations in Malaysia are entitled to the freedom of speech as enshrined and guaranteed by the Federal Constitution, so long as it does not violate any laws or damage the racial harmony of our country.
As a non-governmental organization, Pertubuhan Pribumi Perkasa Malaysia (PERKASA) is free to express their views, but they have no right to go overboard and demand that National Evangelical Christian Fellowship Chairman Reverend Dr Eu Hong Seng be investigated by the police under the Sedition Act for his remarks.
If the Reverend's remarks had indeed violated the law, then the police in their professional capacity will initiate the necessary action. PERKASA as an NGO is neither qualified nor do they have any rights or authority to demand or order the police to do anything.
