MCA Youth on pig heads found at mosque entrance – Calmness of Johoreans indicates goodwill triumphs over ill intents
As Malaysians and the rest of the world prepare to usher a glorious new year for 2012, I am shocked and even more saddened to read that 5 heads or boars were discovered at the entrance of the Masjid Al Falah, Taman Desa Jaya in Johor Baru.
That there are cowards who are willing to jeopardise the good tidings of the year's end by attempting to have 2012 begin on a sour note is un-Malaysian indeed. Reeking with ill will, these disgraceful miscreants deserve unbending condemnation.
Whether this dastardly act was intended as a foolish prank or something more sinister, it is apparent that the offender(s) knew about the inflammatory nature of his/her/their misdeed. Thus, the calmness displayed by Johoreans and especially that displayed by Muslim worshippers of Masjid Al Falah must be praised and should be emulated.
Reason above emotion
If this folly was intended to unleash social discord between multiracial Malaysians who consist of various faiths, then by all means, we must not fall into the trap of the culprit(s) of reacting with reprisals against anyone.
On the contrary, by upholding peace and stability, will we emerge stronger and more united as a nation.
Goodwill and rationale succeeding over nasty-mindedness will be a deterrent against any would-be unscrupulous acts.
Meanwhile, I urge the police not to leave any stones unturned in their investigations.
