Heavy traffic heading north from the city

KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 28 Several stretches along the North-South Expressway north-bound were congested today morning as people hit the highways heading home for the holidays.

Traffic became dense on the stretches of Bukit Beruntung -Tanjung Malim and Slim River-Bidor which narrows into two lanes a Projek Lebuhraya Utara Selatan (PLUS) control centre spokesman told Bernama.

He said there were concerns also about the stretch from Menora Tunnel north heading to the Sungai Perak R&R.

The south bound traffic from the Sungai Besi toll plaza has been relatively smooth, the spokesman added.
