Pakatan should issue joint statement promising not to implement PAS hudud law

Once again I urge the three leaders of Pakatan, Dato' Seri Anwar Ibrahim of PKR, Dato' Seri Hadi Awang of PAS, and Lim Kit Siang of DAP, to issue a joint statement to be published in all news and media organizations in Malaysia declaring that Pakatan will not implement PAS hudud law, instead of continuing to beat around the bush over this issue in an attempt to confuse the Chinese community.

Pakatan should stop relying on other leaders making differing statements regarding PAS hudud law in an attempt to camouflage the issue as some of them say different things in different newspapers and are unclear and or lack credibility.

Hadi Awang on one hand tells the Muslim community that the implementation of hudud law is the responsibility of all Muslims, and Anwar Ibrahim has also expressed his personal support towards hudud law, stressing that no Muslim can object to it.

But DAP on the other hand tells the Chinese community that MCA is purposely stirring up the PAS hudud law issue. However, we can see clearly that senior PAS leaders such as PAS spiritual advisor Dato' Nik Abdul Aziz, and PAS President Hadi Awang, as well as their information chief and the head of PAS Youth claiming that they will seek Constitutional amendments to allow the implementation of hudud if Pakatan holds federal power.

Thus it is better for DAP to stop deceiving themselves, hiding behind their Buku Jingga, as they are powerless in preventing PAS from repeatedly claiming that they will implement hudud law.

While PAS stresses on the need to have PAS hudud law, DAP on the other hand resorts to hiding behind the Buku Jingga. This drama has been going on for years since the 2008 General Elections and we have seen this scene played out again and again several times and the Chinese community has had enough of this play acting.

If DAP is really as powerful as they claim to be, then why do we still see PAS telling the public that they will implement hudud law again and again? Thus, this is clear proof that DAP cannot act as a check and balance for PAS as PAS has no respect for DAP in the least.

Even if DAP claims that PAS does not have the necessary two-third majority in Parliament to support the implementation of hudud, they have forgotten that if indeed PAS does table this motion in Parliament, then the Muslims leaders in PKR and UMNO, and even within DAP will be forced to support this motion due to religious obligation.
