Taman Manjung Point 1 residents given a small cabin for SRS
FOR a job well done, the Taman Manjung Point 1 Volunteer Patrol Scheme (SRS) was rewarded with a small cabin at the neighbourhood field.
The cabin would allow patrolling teams to congregate and rest in between shifts.
Lumut MP Datuk Seri Kong Cho Ha, who officially opened the new structure last Saturday, also presented a RM5,000 allocation and two walkie-talkies worth RM8,000 to the 30-member team for their efforts.

Local SRS leader Rosaimi Osman, 42, said residents of the 420 households have slept more peacefully ever since the team was established as part of the neighbourhood's Rukun Tetangga, in 2005.
"At the time, there were many incidence of break-ins, snatch thefts and mat rempit which were a nuisance.
"There is less crime now," said Rosaimi, adding that there were even instances where thieves were caught during night patrols.
Kong said security was a shared responsibility between the police, Rukun Tetangga and residents.
"Only when all parties play their roles, just like in Taman Manjung Point 1, can crime continue to be reduced.
"Such patrols also foster closer ties between the residents, thus making it easier to identify any suspicious characters in the neighbourhood," he said.
Kong had lauded the hardwork and contributions of Persatuan Pekebun-Pekebun Kecil Manjung members to the nation's economic development during the association's 36th anniversary dinner at SJK(C) Pekan Gurney.
"I can still remember how life was difficult for many members in the beginning.
"Some who planted rubber trees had to wake up at 3am to tap rubber each day while others were unsure whether to plant oil palm due to its low price more than 10 years ago.
"However, things have turned out better and with the high price of palm oil, I believe many members are reaping the fruits of their labour," he said.
Kong, who is also Transport Minister, said the Government had also helped by giving out subsidies and high-quality saplings and fertilisers.
"Manjung has become one of most rapidly developing districts in the state.
"It will receive a bigger boost with the construction of the coastal highway from Banting to Changkat Jering later.
"The highway will pass Lekir and there will be an interchange near Manjung, which will inevitably increase the land value here," he said.
