Explain where RM300mil grant came from, Khalid told
PETALING JAYA: Mentri Besar Tan Sri Khalid Ibrahim must explain whether the RM300mil SelangorKu grant was sourced by compelling a government-linked company (GLC) to sell off its properties to buy state-seized land, Selangor Barisan Nasional coordinator Datuk Seri Mohd Zin Mohamed said.
Sources have claimed that a GLC had been directed to use proceeds from the sale of its properties to buy pieces of land belonging to Mentri Besar Inc (MBI).
The sources claimed that the proceeds should be channelled to the state coffers but Khalid had kept it in MBI.
Mohd Zin claimed that Khalid had been evasive over the source of its funds.
However, Khalid's political secretary Faekah Husin said the grant was based on contributions from state GLCs as well as the profits from MBI operations.
She said the SelangorKu grant was headed by a steering committee, in which the projects overseen by the committee would be handed to assemblymen, Land Office, local authority and Village Development and Security Committee.
"The Mentri Besar does not intervene in ascertaining the allocation and projects because the open tender (process) is managed by the local council and land office," she said.
