Double standards! S'gor MB OK's PKR's support letters but penalises DAP's

Selangor Menteri Besar Tan Sri Khalid Ibrahim who gave his backing to his political secretary Faekah Husin on her issuance of a support letter to a Selangor GLC shows that he has gone against a state directive released in August 2010 which prohibits all Excos, state assemblymen, municipal and district councillors from issuing any support letters for any tender, supply and services contracts.

In the case of former Klang Municipal Councillor Tee Boon Hock which occurred in July 2010, who abused DAP Exco Ronnie Liu's letterheads for 17 support letters of which 7 resulted with the projects successfully awarded to the value of RM700 thousand. The next step of action by the Selangor state government was to sack Tee from his councillorship. However, presently, Khalid not only voiced support for his political secretary but also admitted to likewise issuing support letters. This is ludicrous stemming from the state's chief executive. Does Khalid's action mean that only PKR leaders may issue support letters but DAP may not? Isn't this a case of practising double standards?

Pakatan Rakyat adopts of policy of self praise but never bothers to pay attention to the wrongdoings by its component parties. In the afore-mentioned case, DAP opted to play ignorance. We wish to know DAP's real position on this matter.

I urge Khalid to conduct an in depth investigation so as to give the people a clear explanation. He cannot simply condone Faekah's issuance of support letter as the Selangor government will lose its creditability and trust completely.

In view that the Menteri Besar himself is unable to abide by its earlier state directive, how are the Excos, state assemblymen, municipal and district councillors expected to follow suit? Once again, the Selangor state administration has broken on its promise of "competency, accountability and transparency." Perhaps, these nice sounding descriptions are none other than an empty slogan?
