Bersama to contest in next general election
ALOR SETAR, June 28 A Sabah-born party, Parti Bersatu Sasa Malaysia (Bersama) is set to contest nationwide in the next general election.
President Shuhaiddin Langkap is targeting a membership of 1.3 million by 2012, claiming presently 167,000 members in the peninsula since expanding from Borneo which registers 56,000 members, according to Bernama Online.
He was speaking to media during the launch of their Kedah chapter today, and maintains they were not trying to develop any electoral pacts.
Set-up in 1994 as Parti Demokratik Setia Hati Rakyat Bersatu Sabah, it changed to its present name on March 23 this year to coincide with its Peninsula expansion.
