Tickets for MCA dinner sold out, thousands expected

THE MCA Mega Dinner which will be held at the Han Chiang High School tonight has drawn an overwhelming response from Penangites.

About 5,000 dinner guests are expected.

The dinner's programme coordinator, Tang Heap Seng said around 500 tables had been allocated for the dinner.

"Many NGOs like the Chinese clans will be coming for this function.

"All tickets for the dinner are already sold out," he said.

Tang added that the dinner was an annual affair but it was staged on a much bigger scale this year.

He said parking should not be a problem as more than 1,000 parking spaces will be made available for those attending the dinner.

"There will be up to 700 parking lots at the school itself while 300 more will be made available at the nearby Methodist Boy's School.

"We hope all our guests will come early to avoid the jam in the area because of the Thaipusam festival," said Tang.

Police as well as Rela members will help smoothen the traffic flow around the area," he said in a press conference.

Tang also reminded attendees to bring their tickets for the lucky draw.

"There will be amazing prizes like motorcycles, bicycles, cameras and LED TVs.

"So please bring your ticket to stand a chance to win these prizes," he said.

Among the VIPs attending the dinner are MCA president Datuk Seri Dr Chua Soi Lek and Penang MCA chairman Datuk Seri Dr Ng Yen Yen.

The dinner will start at 7.30pm.
