No Malaysian Casualty In Myanmar Earthquake
KUALA LUMPUR No Malaysian casualty was reported in Myanmar after it was hit by a 6.8 magnitude earthquake in the north eastern part of the country last Thursday.
The foreign ministry said the Malaysian Embassy in Yangon was closely monitoring the situation and had contacted Malaysians registered with the embassy to ascertain their safety and well-being.
The embassy is also in close contact with the Myanmar authorities for the latest updates on the situation and advisories.
The ministry has also activated its operations room and contact lines as focal points for the public to seek information pertaining to the latest situation in the affected areas in Myanmar, it said in a statement here Saturday.

At least, 75 people were killed and hundreds left homeless when the earthquake jolted north-eastern Myanmar near the towns of Tarlay and Kengtung, about 1,150km from Yangon.
