Sex video: Police to question all involved
KUALA LUMPUR: Police will interview every person connected to the sex video implicating opposition leader Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim allegedly having sex with a prostitute.
Inpector-General of Police Tan Sri Ismail Omar, said police have formed a task force comprising a special investigation team from Bukit Aman and Kuala Lumpur police headquarters, who will question all involved to get to the bottom of the scandal.
"We will bring in and question not only those who viewed the video but any one who has information on the video," he said after launching a gathering with Veteran VAT 69 commandoes in a hotel here.
He said only one police report has been lodged since yesterday.
Ismail, however, refused to comment on whether the trio has handed over the sex video to the police.
He also refuted claims by certain parties that the police are behind the sex video, saying police have never been involved in such sex video scandals and it is up to the public to judge.
The police have classified the case under Section 292 of the Penal Code pertaining to distribution of pornographic material. However, the IGP did not rule out that another investigation paper can be opened, pending outcome of the initial investigation.
"Yes, we will open another investigation paper if we find any evidence or even a reason to do it later," he said.
The sex video clip implicating Anwar became a 'national sensation' after its screening to selected journalists by three men who identified themselves as "Datuk T" at the Carcosa Seri Negara last Monday.
Anwar lodged a police report on Tuesday at Dang Wangi police station after he denied being the man in the video clip.-Malay Mail
