Anwar Should Wait For Police Investigation

Police are not investigating Opposition Leader, Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim over a video clip allegedly of him with a prostitute as there was no sign of criminal misconduct. Popular film director and producer, Yusry Abdul Halim may be roped in to ascertain the authenticity of the sex video that showed a man resembling Anwar having sex with a prostitute.

The alleged Anwar sex video first hit the headlines on March 21 when it was shown to senior editors and journalists under a veil of secrecy at Carcosa Seri Negara.

The 21-minute black-and-white video is said to have been taken from closed-circuit television camera recordings found in a hotel room in Kuala Lumpur. The footage shows a man resembling Anwar.

Several blogs claimed that the video was recorded in a room in Lanson Place Jalan Ampang. A check by Mynewshub on Sunday found out the workers at Lanson Place admitted police came to investigate the place recently.

Royal Malaysian Police Secretary Deputy Comm Datuk Ghazali Md. Amin said police might call Yusry to help to analyse the video. As far as we are concerned, we can call anyone to help in the police investigation and that includes Yusry. However police still studying the evidence and had yet to decide if they would call the film maker or other experts on the matter, he added.

Yusry, who directed the recent box-office hit Hikayat Merong Mahawangsa was reported to have said that it would be difficult to doctor a 20-minute long video. He was reported saying still pictures or short videos can be forged but if it is 20 minutes long it is almost impossible.

Tan Sri Rahim Thamby Chik and Datuk Shazryl Eskay Abdullah, two of the three men behind the video, have urged the government to set up a royal commission of inquiry (RCI) to determine the videos authenticity. Another man who is also responsible in bringing the video to light is Perkasa treasurer-general Datuk Shuib Lazim. The trio identified themselves as Datuk T.

Anwar in a press conference on the same day t! he video was shown to journalists denied that he was the man in the video. On the next day he lodged a police report. Two days later, Eskay surrendered to police the original recording of the video and an Omega wrist-watch purpotedly belonging to Anwar.

In a ceramah in Gombak last Friday, Anwar in a fiery speech in front of some 1,500 Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) supporters urged the people to vote out Barisan Nasional (BN) claiming the coalition is behind the latest conspiracy. The ceramah was held to counter lies against Anwar.

However, supporters turned rowdy when police tried to stop Anwar from speaking for more than the 15 minutes he was allocated. Plastic chairs, water bottles, bricks and sticks were thrown to the riot police personnel. Last night, at the special prayer session held at Stadium Melawati, Shah Alam he denied again that he was involved in the video. The session was held last night to counter slander against him. In his speech the PKR leader told his supporters to work harder to conquer Putrajaya.

Anwar does not need to deny many times that he was the man in the sex video. He should just wait for police investigation to proof the video authenticity or just say investigation will proof that he is innocent.
