Azizan's comments that he will only listen to Hadi proves DAP & PKR are sidelined, leaving Kedah to be run according to PAS' interests
The comments by Dato' Seri Azizan Abdul Razak, Menteri Besar of Kedah, which was reported on the front page of the Malay-language daily Utusan Malaysia whereby he had said that he will only listen to the advice of PAS President Dato' Seri Abdul Hadi Awang and not any other Pakatan Rakyat leader, shows PAS's superiority in the coalition.
Speaking in reference to the appointment of his excos, what Azizan said is in total contrast to the promises of Pakatan Rakyat's Buku Jingga, whereby it is stated that Pakatan Rakyat will base their plans and actions on the Common Policy Platform. How can this be when Azizan has dismissed his counterpart's advice as unimportant?
DAP and PKR's subservient nature
However, looking back, this is not surprising as Azizan himself holds the Buku Jingga in contempt when he claimed that the policies in Buku Jingga need not apply in Kedah as it was not the Quran. The warnings issued by PAS Dewan Ulama Chief Dato' Harun Taib for the state's PKR and DAP branches to stay out of the issue, and their compliance to the warnings, are all indications of their deferential nature towards PAS.
The actions of the PAS central committee in meddling with the affairs of the Kedah state government, whose exco members consist of PAS,DAP, and PKR members, is also wrong as it shows that a political party can run a state while ignoring their Pakatan Rakyat counterparts. Is it any wonder why MCA is confident that PAS will end up being the tai kor should Pakatan Rakyat take over the federal government?
Kedah according to PAS, not Pakatan Rakyat's Buku Jingga
A state or constituency should be managed according to the needs of the rakyat who had voted for them, thus giving them a mandate to serve the public. The needs of the community come first. As such, PAS Kedah is wrong in thinking that they can run the state of Kedah in the interests of PAS. This is probably why the non-Muslims in the state have been facing many problems with attempts to implement Islamic policies on their lifestyles as Azizan has forgotten that he is beholden to the people as well, and not Hadi only.
