Confirmed! Diesel & LPG Price Also Remains

KUALA LUMPUR There is no change in RON95 petrol, diesel and liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) price, said Minister for Domestic Trade, Co-operatives and
Consumerism, Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob.

The people have been waiting for this good news after the Cabinet meeting this morning.

Earlier this week, Ismail was reported to have said, the government will announce a subsidy rationalization move in this week to coordinate the price of
RON95 petrol, diesel and LPG.

Based on early research, the government viewed a subsidy of RM18 billion this year is more suitable for poverty eradication implementation projects, he said.

He said, the government certainly took notice of that effort because they discovered the subsidy given all this while was not enjoyed by all people.

The government was expected to bear the petroleum product subsidy as much as RM18 billion this year compared to RM8 billion last year if the crude oil price remains
high around USD$100 (RM303) for one barrel.
