Two years on, RCI orders search for Teohs missing watch
February 23, 2011
KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 23 The Royal Commission of Inquiry (RCI) investigating Teoh Beng Hocks death ordered a policeman today to search for the political aides missing watch after he admitted an oversight in his work nearly two years ago.Investigating officer (IO) ASP Ahmad Nazri Zainal told the inquiry today that he did not thoroughly search a drainage hole near Teohs body, which had been found on a fifth floor corridor of Plaza Masalam, Shah Alam, on July 16 2009.The watch is important... as it can tell the time of death, said RCI chairman Tan Sri James Foong at the inquiry today.Go to the site (later this afternoon). Investigate again. Break the bars (and) see how deep (the drain is), Foong told Ahmad Nazri. An inquest into Teohs death, which wrapped up its inquiry last month, had returned an open verdict and ruled out both suicide and homicide. Both the Teoh family and his employers, the Selangor government, are boycotting the RCI to express their objection to the participation of officials from the Attorney-Generals Chambers as conducting officers for the panel.MORE TO COME
