KJ joins DAP. KJ from the back..that is!
Not Khairy Jamaluddin...yet. But Khir Johari's son Zairil, hence we though the best way to get you to pay attention is to tell it as it is.
Zairil Khir Johari the son of the late Tan Sri Khir Johari chose to label his father as a leader of the old UMNO in which he referred to, that fought oppression and independence from the British.
The fact that Zairil KJ chose to highlight this goes to show that he is fighting demons within himself to justify his actions. Perhaps it is wrong for us to say this, but since Zairil KJ brought up the issue, one would shudder to think what his actions would have done to his father should he be still alive today.
Most father and son teams 'fight' on the same side, as far as Malaysian politics shows in history ( perhaps not 100 percent, but most do), and by stepping out of the usual boundaries, Zairil KJ must surely know what he is doing.
It can be argues that there is a growing number of 'moderate' Malays, but that argument really depends on which side of the fence you stand.
It is even more interesting how Zairil KJ can choose to make such a stand as dignifying 'old UMNO' from new, and trampling on those who fought alongside his father.
With this does he imply that Tun Dr Mahathir and Tun Abdullah Badawi as well as most others who were in now in the New UMNO as simply those who are there for their own benefits and not Malaysia's?
By speaking on behalf of his late father, Zairil KJ has probably pissed on his fathers grave, for no son would even want to drag his father's name in this kind of act.
It would be something else altogether if Zairil KJ were to go to the commissioner of oaths change his name, but then again if he had done that, what good would he be to Lim Guan Eng and DAP?
Zairil KJ even went as far as to say that there were some senior UMNO members who encouraged him to join DAP.
With Zairil finally declaring his intentions to contest for DAP, one cannot look away from the fact that DAP is now scrambling for 28 year old Malay candidates to appeal to its detractors who view DAP as a predominantly Chinese iparty.
