PM approves almost RM10 million for Kerdau ... Daylight Bribery ?

Najib insists the sudden boon including a water treatment plant, an Indian temple and a multipurpose hall, is 'not meant to fish for votes'.

Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak has announced an allocation of almost RM10 million for development projects in the Kerdau state constituency.

He said the projects were upgrading the pump at the Batu Sawar water treatment plant and replacing the pipes from Rumpun Makmur to Kampung Kerai costing RM9.25 million altogether.

The prime minister said all these projects were not meant to fish for votes, but a responsibility of the government to ensure comfort for the people.

"Street lights, low-cost housing and all these I don't want to talk about anymore...otherwise people will accuse me of vote buying. In the past, I had promised that I will be a Prime Minister for all races, this is the proof," he said.

He said this in his speeches at two separate functions, namely, with the people of Batu Sawar, and a gathering with the Chinese, Indian and Orang Asli communities in Kampung Baru Kerdau today.

He said the BN government always carried out projects for the development and comfort of the people since the country gained independence although the leadership had changed from time to time.

Shadow cabinet dare revisited

Meanwhile, Najib also called on the people to look at the cracks within the opposition parties that had previously claimed that the PAS-DAP-Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) alliance had reached a consensus.

He said it was not proper to trust the opposition because they are not a party that is strong enough to administer the country properly.

"The opposition party is putting on a political drama. They don't have concrete ideological ties actually. Just look at the shadow cabinet they had been harping on, until now they have not formed it.

"They (the opposition) dare not give positions to their political partners. Who shall be the finance minister, who will be the education minister, (and) within the opposition itself there is no consensus. They are only interested in one thing, that is, to bring down the BN," Najib said.
