DNA of 'Male Y' found on other items

A chemist testifies in the Sodomy II trial that it was detected on a toothbrush, mineral water bottle and towel. The identity of 'Male Y' is slowly coming to light in the sodomy trial against Anwar Ibrahim. A second chemist said today that the DNA found in the rectal area of complainant Mohd Saiful Bukhari Azlan corresponds to that found on a toothbrush, mineral water bottle and towel. Chemist Nor Aidora Saedon told the Kuala Lumpur High Court that she arrived at this finding after comparing her report with that of DNA specialist Dr Seah Lay Hong. "The DNA profile retrieved from the towel, toothbrush and mineral water bottle is identical to that identified as Male Y," she said during examination-in-chief this morning. It was not revealed where the investigating officer, Jude Blacious Pereira, had obtained the samples. Nor Aidora testified that she had received the mineral water bottle, white toothbrush and a Good Morning towel along with two strands of hair about 6pm on July 17, 2008 Nor Aidora said she managed to obtain a DNA profile from the mineral water bottle, towel and tooth brush, but not from the two strands of hair. The DNA profile were all from the same source, she said.
