GALAS Islamic party says it did not bring up the issue due to the lack of speakers well-versed in the subject.
PAS today denied that it did not broach the topic of oil royalty in the Galas campaign because of a 'gentlemen's agreement' with Gua Musang MP Tengku Razaleigh Hamzah.
azlan“The reason we did not bring up the issue, is not because of a deal with Ku Li, no, no, we did not impose any restrictions on the topic,” said Kota Bharu MP Wan Abdul Rahim Wan Abdullah at the party's daily press briefing.
He explained that the reason that oil royalty has not yet surfaced in the PAS campaign is because of the lack of speakers who are well-versed in the subject.
“If speakers who are capable and equipped to talk about the issue like Kelantan exco member Husam Musa are here, we may bring it up,” he said.
At the same press briefing, Wan Abdul Rahim also claimed that BN, which is desperate for votes, may resort to its traditional tactic of using phantom voters.
“I suspect that they use the National Registration Department to issue duplicate identity cards to their supporters to vote in place of locals.
“I also heard reports they may give television sets to voters to get their identity cards to be used for voting by BN supporters,” alleged Wan Abdul Rahim, though he admits there is no actual proof yet. | |
