Rosmah: Ring rumours are untrue and slanderous

DATIN Seri Rosmah Mansor refuted allegations that she purchased a RM24mil ring recently.

The Prime Minister's wife said she would rather concentrate on beneficial issues than comment on something that was not relevant, reported Berita Harian.

There is nothing to say because I don't have time to entertain things like this It is slander, Rosmah said in Kedah, where she accompanied Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak on a one-day working visit.

She was responding to allegations in an opposition news portal that she bought the ring from a New York-based jeweller.

Rosmah said as the Prime Minister's wife, she would rather concentrate on efforts to help the people through childhood education, especially in rural areas.

I feel comfortable with what I am doing to help these children because knowledge is the most important thing for their future, she said.

In actual fact, their house in Kampung Serakam near Sungai Petani had been broken into and the thief was trying to snatch his wife's bangle and chain.

Zaludin Ibrahim, 41, awoke after his wife, Roshana Jaafar, 44, started shouting and pointing toward the ki! tchen at about 2am in the morning.

I was worried because she seemed possessed. My two children were shocked and started to cry. But I soon realised that our house had been broken into, he said.

Roshana said she was sleeping with her daughter Nurul Nadia in the living room and was woken up by the thief who was dressed like a silat exponent.

She said the thief was shocked when she woke up and ran to the kitchen.
