Wanita MCA Penang DAP playing word games: Covers its pitting Chinese against Chinese to please other races
During the Barisan Nasional administration of Penang state, DAP had vigorously attacked the 30% Bumiputera quota. But now when DAP is in power in Penang, not a single state government project for the Drainage and Irrigation Department in the five districts has been awarded to a Chinese bidder. Is this not a form of pitting the Chinese against the Chinese?
Ng Wei Aik, the political secretary to Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng should be taken to task for misleading the rakyat on the so-called open tender. There clearly is a case of DAP double talk. According to Kwong Woh online (30 July 2011), Ng Wei Aik is reported to have said that when Pakatan Rakyat proposed an open tender policy, UMNO had objected. Thus we see that since DAP is pressured from UMNO to look after the Malays, DAP now says that Class F projects valued below RM200,000 for Bumiputera contractors can be awarded directly without tender. This is similar to admitting that DAP bows to UMNO. Thus, their argument of an open tender is self-contradictory.
Lim Guan Eng had claimed that all Drainage and Irrigation Department (DID) projects in Penang were awarded via open tender. Yet not a single Chinese bidder was successful and all contracts were given to Malays, Bumiputeras and Indian Muslims. On the contrary, Ng Wei Aik claims that there is no need for public tender. Ultimately, who is talking facts and who is telling falsities?
Lim Guan Eng should be criticized f! or not w alking the talk. DAP merely spews criticisms verbally but never dares to face UMNO directly in any election. DAP claims that MCA yields to UMNO but DAPs actions themselves show they succumb to PAS which indicates their covering up their incompetence and cowardly slanders against MCA.
Lim Guan Engs remarks as reported in Kwong Woh Yit Poh (30 July 2011) suggests that he accused MCA of criticizing him and Pakatan Rakyat governments only in the Chinese media. Let it be known that I have never shied away from issuing bilingual media statements in English and Mandarin. Besides Chinese newspapers publishing my statements, the English media like The Star, online news portals like The Malaysian Insider and Malaysia Today have published my statement. On the other hand, DAP says one thing in Chinese but speaks something else in English and Bahasa Malaysia to please the non-Chinese-speaking audience out of fear of offending them.
DAP even offered to translate my press statements into Bahasa Malaysia and giving them to the Malay press. But there is no need for them to do so as I release bilingual press statements with the same contents for all ethnic groups. If DAP is brave, DAP will repeat the same statement to all races and not say different things to different groups.
In battling for Malay votes, DAP acts like hypocrites. They sacrifice the welfare of the Chinese in Kedah who suffer from disadvantageous policies imposed against non-Muslims by the PAS government, e.g. 70% housing quota for Bumiputeras, demolition of the of the sole pig abattoir, requiring non-Muslim hawkers to stop trading for 15 minutes during Muslim prayer times or segregating males and females from sitting together during concerts. What did DAP do? Even during the recent outrage caused by the proposed prohibition against entertainment outlets during Ramadan, it was the Kedah Chinese Assembly Hall which resolved the controversy. DAP did not dare mediate. Where has the so-called equal footing between D! AP and P AS gone to?
