Mamak: "The Chinese Are The Problem In Singapore, Not Islam"

Whether we like it or not, we have to admit that it isn’t wrong to say that Lee Kuan Yew is one great leader of today, besides Tun Dr. Mahathir.
Eventhough, they both have retired but their minds ‘live’ on as recorded in the achievement of their countries.
They have never seen eye to eye with each other and may even be enemies but nobody can deny that it is their stubbornness, firmness and straight-forwardness that made them great leaders far above the western leaders who are most commonly just puppets of the capitalists.
Dr. Mahathir, though having such strong character but as a Muslim, he is very soft-hearted, loving, caring and compassionate. This is proven in his sincerity in treating his patients in the old days when he was just a doctor where he often gave free treatment to the poor.
He is quick and vocal in fighting against cruelty and injustice around the world namely, Bosnia and Palestine. He believes in diplomacy and friendly approach when solving problems in the country.
For example, when Malaysia was facing the problem of illegal immigrants from Indonesia, he introduced a slogan ‘Prosper Thy Neighbour’ which called us to help Indonesia to improve their economy through investments and business so that they will no longer be a problem to us.
This character of Dr. Mahathir is very much opposite to that of Kuan Yew. Dr. Mahathir fights for peace and prosperity of the nation, the country and the world to the best of his ability, and that is all. But Kuan Yew fights for victory and power for his country and his people. Kuan Yew would never fight for others and doesn’t even care about the pains and sufferings of the Bosnians, Palestines, Africans, Indonesians or anybody at all.
Kuan Yew, being a Chinese, is naturally a ‘kiasu’ meaning arrogant and will never ever admit his wrongs and his defeats in any way. It is not hard to imagine these kiasus being the cold blooded ethnic cleansers anytime. A kiasu, like Kuan Yew is always in a ‘fighting and competing' mode due to his prejudice mindset and sometimes even paranoid, as he is too afraid of being ‘defeated’ by others eg, Malaysia or Indonesia.
Although he boasts of his nation as being advanced and sophisticated but his arrogance, his inability to admit his wrongs and his lack of compassion has distant himself and the Singaporeans from the true meaning of a civilized nation.
When Kuan Yew called the Singaporean Muslims not to be too good a Muslim, we aren’t at all surprised.
There are no more insensitive words that can come out from Kuan Yew’s mouth that could shock the world. He can call all the world leaders as stupid, idiot, dumb, dog or anything at all without even feeling the least guilt or shame. This is a proof of the lack of humanity in him and in the majority of the Singaporeans.
It’s true what they say about how the people often take the traits of their leaders.
The Singaporean Malays who are very critical of Dr. Mahathir’s concern about them being marginalized in their country must be standing firmly behind Kuan Yew who wants to see them losing grip of their roots and religion. If that is what they want too, then who are we to protest?
Kuan Yew claimed that Islam is the reason behind the difficulty to integrate and develop the nation due to its differences and rules mainly for rejecting mix-religion marriages.
Kuan Yew cannot accept the fact that the Muslims can never marry a non-Muslim accept for those believing in the same concept of one God and categorized the ‘halal and haram’ (do’s and don’ts) accordingly.
Kuan Yew doesn’t have the slightest idea about the concept of God, thus explains why he has no sense of humanity and good values. Kuan Yew is too arrogant to talk about the existence of a higher power than himself. This is what the minds of this fading leader all about.
But this article is not about Kuan Yew’s mind and thinking. It is enough for us to note that Kuan Yew has no idea about Islam or any other religion in the world. Let’s just talk about what he says about Islam and the Muslims.
Is it true that Islam prevents development?
Anybody with some knowledge of the world’s history would know that Islam had produced scientists, innovators, mathematicians, physicists, architects and all as the Qur’an itself emphasizes on the greatness of the minds and calls mankind to study every aspect of the universe.
The Qur’an has taken mankind out of the darkness of the unknown from the unthinking, inhumanity and barbarism to the light of civilizations and taught us cleanliness, manners and compassions up to the extent of modernity.
This proves that Islam is very much an advanced religion and that Kuan Yew is wrong.
Is it true that Islam prevents integration?
In the glory days of Islam, Islamic countries have been the place of choice for the refugees especially the Jews who had been ousted more than 70 times from everywhere throughout their history.
Islamic countries allow the Christians and the Jews to live harmoniously among the Muslims. There is not even one record on Muslims oppressing others, compared to Christians and Jews with records of cruelty towards the Muslims and each other too.
This is clear evidence that Islam is the most tolerance and does not prevent integration.
Kuan Yew is blaming the Muslims’ differences as the main problem of racial integration in Singapore.
Is it true that we are different? If so, should we be different?
It’s true that Muslims aren’t supposed to follow the non-Non Muslims’ way of life.
We are not supposed to take alcohol drinks and eat the non-halal food in any occasions even when entertaining customers after office hours. We aren’t supposed to overly socialized in terms of sleeping around out of wed between men and women.
We are supposed to wear decently and appropriately by not exposing too much unnecessarily. At prayer times, we are supposed to excuse ourselves for not more than 5 minutes to pray, and that is all.
After working hours and when we are home, we are free to do other religious requirements as we like, without bothering anybody.
More than that, our lives as Muslims are the same as others. We are free to talk, joke around and be friends to others like everybody else.
We have no problem to have breakfast, lunch, tea or dinner with fellow colleagues from other races. We also have no problem in visiting each others’ homes.
Generally, this is the way of life of the Muslims in Singapore and Malaysia too. Until today, both countries have no problem with it. Therefore, what is it that is bothering Kuan Yew?
Maybe the truth is that the Muslims do not isolate themselves, but it is the Chinese who prefers to mix with their own kind and refuse to accept others in their groups. In Malaysia, things are worse because the Chinese would leave out their Malay colleagues by speaking in Chinese language in the office.
The Chinese tendency of being racists is proven by the existence of China Town all around the world where Chinese immigrants would conquer certain areas and made them their own, exclusively.
As far as possible, the Chinese would refuse to share business or even job opportunities with the original citizens of the countries. This is a common complains heard in Malaysia, Australia, Britain and America where the original citizens are eventually becoming displeased, irritated or annoyed by them.
All the original citizens of these countries are well aware of how the Chinese never respect the culture and the people of the country but insist on behaving as the world belongs to them.
Understanding the character of a kiasu, we would then understand what Kuan Yew really wants is not racial integration in a true sense.
What he wants is to see the Singaporean Malays to accept the culture and way of life of his people, the Chinese, or in other words, become more Chinese. That’s all.
As long as others do not accept his peoples’ way of life, they will always be referred to as different and a problem. But don’t be surprised should other races be more Chinese than the Chinese too, they will still not be given the same opportunity and as widely by the Chinese.
The fact is, the majority of the Chinese are kiasus and racists and they are the ones hindering the racial integration in Singapore, not the Muslims.
But Kuan Yew will never admit this as he is the symbol of a true chauvinist who never sees his own weakness, what more trying to be a better person. Perhaps, if Kuan Yew does believe in the power that be, then he would be able to have some humility.
Bottomline, Kuan Yew may be great as a leader, but as a human, he has actually achieved nothing. The irony is, does he even care?
