PM: Give input on budget
PUTRAJAYA: Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak has invited Malaysians to give their input for the Budget 2011.
The Prime Miniter’s invitation is contained in his blog www.1malaysia.com.my.
In it, he asked the people to send in their ideas for the Budget, which is scheduled to be tabled in Parliament in October.
This is the second time he has asked the people to provide suggestions for the Budget. Najib asked them for suggestions for the Budget 2010 before it was tabled last year.
"For your feedback and suggestions, I thank you and invite you once more to share your ideas for the upcoming national Budget 2011. Let me know what areas of development you would like to see prioritised for next year," he wrote.
Najib said that by being online, he had received some "wonderful suggestions and feedback" from the younger Malaysian community, and asked for more creative ideas and solutions for the Budget.
"You are, after all, the generation that will be driving our country’s economy for the next 20 years," he added.
Najib said the rakyat contributed hundreds of solid suggestions to the Budget last year, and a significant portion of the ideas were absorbed into that Budget.
"This year, we have unveiled the Government Transformation Programme, the New Economic Model and the 10th Malaysia Plan as measures that will chart the course for the nation’s development as we approach 2020.
"These measures also promote greater inclusiveness and emphasis on social justice so that no Malaysian is left behind in our steady march forward," he said.
