THE state will organise a workshop to discuss matters pertaining to stray animals and their welfare on May 14. ROYAL Malaysian Navy personnel will have better access to knowledge on the maritime industry with two of its training centres being recognised as Maritime Training Institutes (MTI). Navy chief Admiral Tan Sri Abdul Aziz Jaafar said the KD Pelandok and KD Sultan Idris I had both obtained the status of MTI from the Marine Department and would conduct maritime training courses besides naval training, after this. For a start, the two MTIs would train Navy personnel in Basic Safety and Training, and Tanker Familiarisation to help them better understand the workings of the maritime industry.
