‘Selangor MB neglecting his constituents’ housing needs’
PETALING JAYA: An assemblyman has ticked off Selangor Mentri Besar Tan Sri Khalid Ibrahim for neglecting the housing needs of people in his own constituency.
Sungai Pelek assemblyman Yap Ee Wah said he felt sad that Khalid, who is also Ijok assemblyman, had deserted his constituents.
He was referring to a newspaper report that the state government had allegedly confiscated the land and refused to hand over the keys and certificate of fitness (CF) to buyers of 2,500 housing units, which were abandoned in Ijok but revived by the federal-run Syarikat Perumahan Negara Bhd (SPNB).
Yap said this proved Pakatan Rakyat had reneged on its 2008 manifesto to assist every Selangor resident to a own home.
"But then again, given Khalid's infamous quote that a manifesto is not a promise', voters should be wary of Pakatan's empty promises, which further cement their insincerities in their chase for power."
Yap said the state government's action showed its callousness, immaturity and jealousy against Barisan Nasional's success in completing projects.
He urged the Mentri Besar not to make the housebuyers in Ijok scapegoats.
"Stop blocking the handover and issue the keys and CF at once," he said.
Yap also warned the people to expect another round of unfulfilled promises from the Opposition.
He said Barisan still cared about the people as shown through SPNB's move in reviving the project.
"This shows that Barisan will never abandon voters who reside in Pakatan areas."
