Koay: MCA and BN still serving the people
GEORGE TOWN: MCA and Barisan Nasional members continued to serve the people despite losing in the general election four years ago, said Bukit Gelugor Barisan coordinator Datuk Koay Kar Huah.
"In fact, we did our best to provide services and assistance to the people. We helped over 8,000 people from Bukit Gelugor to obtain RM500 from the Bantuan Rakyat 1Malaysia (BR1M) scheme."
He also questioned why DAP failed to take any action when gender segregation was enforced during the recent Pakatan Rakyat national convention in Alor Setar on Jan 14.
"Do you want to support this kind of party?" he asked in his speech at the Bukit Gelugor MCA division Chinese New Year dinner last night.
Koay, who is also the Penang MCA adviser, added that the people of Penang wanted a fair and peaceful development where resources are shared.
Among those present at the dinner were Tanjung MCA division chief Datuk Dr Loh Hock Hun, MCA Bayan Baru division chairman Tan Lai Theng, Sri Delima Barisan Nasional co-ordinator Loh Nam Hooi, Bayan Baru BN co-ordinator Por Joo Tee, Paya Terubong BN co-ordinator Koh Wan Leong and Bukit Gelugor Wanita MCA division chairman Ong Ean Ean.
