IPOH: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak's presence at the Perak MCA Chinese New Year open house has raised the chances of Barisan Nasional retaining the state in the upcoming general election by another notch, MCA president Datuk Seri Dr Chua Soi Lek said.
He said Perak MCA was proud as this was the first time a Prime Minister attended its Chinese New Year open house.
"Datuk Seri Najib who has the people's interest at heart irrespective of ethnic background, is the people's leader.
"The people will support a leader who goes to the ground to get to know and understand the people, and resolved the issues faced by them," Dr Chua, who is also Perak MCA chairman, said at the state MCA Chinese New Year open house here on Sunday.
Dr Chua said the Prime Minister, who is people-oriented and caring, has a clear vision for Malaysians and the country, and is able to work towards the goals.
He added that this is another boost to the people's confidence and trust in Barisan.
"The year of the dragon is a good year. The zodiac is a symbol of vitality, power and success and I hope Barisan will continue to rule the country," he said.
Also present at the event were Perak Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Dr Zambry Abdul Kadir and MCA secretary-general Datuk Seri Kong Cho Ha.
