Leaders praise and pray for security forces’ safety

PETALING JAYA: As the country's security forces continue to defend Sabah, Barisan Nasional leaders are voicing their support and praying for the personnel's safety. Leading the way is Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak who had tweeted twice, the first going out at 12.28pm. In Bahasa Malaysia, the Prime Minister stressed that the Government would not let anyone undermine the nation's sovereignty. He also rallied Malaysians to stand firm in supporting the country's security forces. Two minutes later, he tweeted, saying he was thankful that the operations against the Sulu armed group had gone smoothly and that a door-to-door operation was being carried out. MCA president Datuk Seri Dr Chua Soi Lek tweeted: "Congratulations to our security forces in Sabah for a successful operation carried out in protecting our nation's sovereignty." MCA vice- president Gan Ping Sieu sent his highest regards to the armed forces. "No one wants bloodshed,...

No justification in invasion

Image
Despite the emotional calls of the invaders that they are simply taking what is theirs, what they have done is deeply wrong and unlawful. In international law there is no justification for the use of arms except in self-defence. THINGS are moving so quickly in Sabah, that I dare not make any comment on the current situation, since what is "current" seems to change by the hour. From the start, let me say that it is sad and regrettable that there has been so much loss of life. Our thoughts ought to go to the dead, but perhaps more importantly to those they leave behind. I am still befuddled as to why this has happened at all. The claims made by the invaders that Sabah belongs to the Sultanate of Sulu and therefore they are justified in taking it, is very doubtful. Historically, it is true that Sabah fell under the jurisdiction of Sulu, but this was handed to the British via a treaty. It follows that when Sabah joined Sarawak, Singapore and Malaya to create Malaysi...

HOT : MEMANG MEMALUKAN...
