OCT 28 How do you respond to the annual Auditor-Generals Report?

Would you be too shocked to speak? Too perplexed to understand? Too angry to remain calm?

Perhaps, you just wait angrily without much expectation to see how the agencies, departments and officials make a fool of themselves?

From the car jack in 2006 to the latest night vision marine binoculars and oven, what have we seen, heard and found?

Are you having many questions to ask and feeling so helpless?

How could such overpayment, flawed management, connivance, absurdity keep on being staged year after year like a long-winded soap opera?

How could they allow such a waste of public money and extravagance to keep killing the peoples confidence?

How could there be no action taken against officials who are involved in such an obvious flawed management and blatant fraud? If it were a private company, many would have, for sure, been punished.

What value and future would be brought to Malaysian society by such shameful and absurd practices?

Oh! The hard-earned money of taxpayers is actually spent in such a way!

Oh! Some of our departments management is actually so irresponsible!

Oh! Those officials involved in frauds can actually go scot-free just like that!

There are so many other questions and much dissatisfaction.

However, one of the saddest things about bureaucratic culture is, some people can just withstand condemnation. They would not care or argue no matter how you criticise and censure them.

It is because even if the issues are raised and concerned, the situation would remain as status quo while those involved would also remain unchanged.

It is also because we are unable to keep qualified personnel and talents but only see them walk away to serve others. We have failed to persuade those who should stay to stay and drive out those who should go. Instead, they stay and continue to act unscrupulously while covering each other.

Another 365 days! have pa ssed and we are still asking the same questions while sighing in helplessness.

How long do we still have to wait for an impressive Auditor-Generals Report filled with appreciation and surprises, instead of questions and sighs?
